Autumn On the Farm

Cold frosty mornings bring us into autumn. The hens don't seem to mind the cold still out and about all day. Next week we have our new pullets arrive along with a few of some special breeds for interest. It wont be long now before four friends for Violet arrive but they will have to be fully grown so as not to be bullied.

The cattle are now running in and out of the back yard as they please and yes they like to lay and sleep outside!!! (I hope they grow their winter coats soon). The last of the older ones have now been sold with the remaining oldies leaving today.

We are looking at all the trees now identifying old problem branches, bringing them down and sawing them up for winter firewood.

Rain Gauge = .735 inch
